A trip to Portugal
So you’ve put Portugal on your bucket list, you’ve booked the flights, and now you’re planning what to do when you get there. Well let me share a few things I got to experience during my little adventure.
We explored so many amazing places but there we’re a few that really stood out to me. So buckle up because i’m going share my favourite spots around Lisbon and Lagos.

Lisbon:
Seagull Method - We had brunch here and it was incredible. The decor here is very Instagram-worthy and your taste buds are going to be singing. Nicolau Lisboa
Fauna & Flora - Super cute spot with an amazing menu. The chocolate and banana bagel will forever be in my heart.
Nicolau Lisboa - The pink beetroot hummus might be the best thing I’ve ever tasted. I also got the pink humus & avo toast so you could say I was obsessed. You also need to really try the Banoffee Pancakes.
Lagos
Sunrays Kitchen - We went here every single day while we were in Lagos. The breakfast was incredible and the coffee was even better. We had the avocado toast paired with crumpets. 12/10 experience sitting outside in the sunshine under the trees.
Indigo Bar - This was a super cute rooftop bar to hang out at. They had really fun cocktails and kind of like a Greece vibe going on. They also have this amazing goat cheese with honey that you dip little toasties in. It’s okay to drool.
Coffee & Waves - We made it to this spot on our last day before leaving. We had the most incredible colourful spread of food and drinks. Their smoothies are so good and I wanted everything on the menu. I settled on only being able to try a few things but I will be going back.

You can go a few different ways here. It depends on what kind of experience you want on your vacation. If you want a more laid-back vacation I would suggest looking into an Airbnb or VRBO. We stayed at this Airbnb in Lagos which had a pool, a cute little deck to sit on and a kitchen to make food in. We also had a car so we didn’t mind being a little outside of the main town. We also stayed at this spot in Lisbon which was amazing. Close to the city center, great food spots, and lots of shopping. I usually stay a little outside of the main areas to save money and maybe stumble upon a hidden local gem.
If you are looking for more of a vacation-style experience, I’d suggest going the hotel route and staying in the city centers. You are probably going to have a more luxurious experience. We stayed at this hotel the night before we flew out and it was absolutely beautiful. We also stayed at The Lift Boutique Hotel for a night right in the city. We were right in the thick of town which was super fun. The rooms are also decorated beautifully and we even had a little balcony on the top floor.

This list could be endless. Portugal is an incredible place and I only scratched the surface of this beautiful country. However, I did make note of a few favourite spots we visited and I’ll share them.
Watching the sunrise from Cais das Colunas might have been my favourite way to start the trip Lisbon. Once you are done with sunrise head down the main walkway and enjoy coffee and breakfast while people-watching. I highly suggest shopping after as well around R. do Carmo. Great place to pick up your new favourite European style.
Now I’m not huge into touristy attractions but 3 notable places to check out are Carmo Convent, Castelo de São Jorge, and Belém Tower. These are all paid attractions but are definitely worth it if you're looking for some history.
Now if you are also going to Lagos, the whole entire coast is going to be your playground. I absolutely loved driving over to the beaches on the west coast. They start at Torre Da Aspa and basically go all the way up the coast. You can drive to any of the beaches and walk forever. Another activity that I highly suggest is a sunrise kayak tour. It was so refreshing to be on the water as the sun came up and we even made it to the famous Benagil cave on our tour. The best way to find a tour is to google Benagil cave tour. There are lots and you’ll find one that available when you are there.
